WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT?
Depending on your DADCAMP event, it could be a half-day, full-day, or weekend experience (Friday evening to Sunday noon) but no matter the format you will be encouraged, inspired, challenged, and equipped to become a stronger father while simultaneously giving you an opportunity to strengthen your relationship with your kids. The weekend is full of fun activities, challenging sessions, music and a lot of surprises we can’t tell you about.
WHAT WEEKENDS DO YOU OFFER?
DADCAMP High School (coed event)
Studies show that most parents start pulling back from their kids in their teenage years, but studies also show that this is the time when our kids need us most! DADCAMP HS is all about creating a ton of fun and some space for Dads to engage with their teens during this challenging season of life.
DADCAMP MS (coed event)
It’s during the middle school years that many parents begin to wonder if their kids are from the same planet as them. DADCAMP Middle School is a crazy fun experience for Dads and their kids to discover who they really are. It’s awesome. There are several DADCAMP Middle School events to choose from. This is a coed event but if bringing more than 1 child they must be the same gender.
DADCAMP Father/Daughter (1st-5th grade) & Father/Son (1st-5th grade)
This is where it all began. An experience with your elementary child that you will never forget.
DADCAMP Old School
It’s never too late for a Dad to invest into his children. Old School is an adult Father/Son event designed for grown men to spend some quality time hanging out and to discuss topics like manhood and fatherhood together. It’s a can’t miss.
WHAT SHOULD I BRING?
If attending a weekend experience, a week or two before DADCAMP, you will receive a welcome letter that includes a full packing list specific for your location. Your registration includes a big Friday snack, three meals on Saturday and breakfast on Sunday. Feel free to bring your own snacks and beverages. If attending a Half-Day or Full-Day event, just wear some comfortable clothes and follow any instructions your host site sends to you prior to the event.
WHERE IS THIS HELD?
International DADCAMP sites vary from event to event. Your host site will communicate event details to you.
DADCAMP USA event are held in numerous states around the country. Check out our EVENTS PAGE for specific dates & locations.
WHERE DO WE SLEEP?
There are multiple sleeping options at DADCAMP . Weekend venues generally offer cabins or give you the option to bring your own camping gear. Each site will inform you of available options when you register.
WHAT IF IT RAINS?
We try to make the best of inclement weather. We will do our best to communicate with you how plans may change in advance of bad weather. In case of a weather-related cancellation, we will offer an alternative date and provide refunds if necessary.
CAN I ONLY COME FOR PART OF THE TIME?
No. One of the benefits of DADCAMP is the opportunity to get away from the rest of the world. We ask that no one come or go during the weekend of DADCAMP so that you can focus on your relationship with your child. Even if your child has a game or activity to attend, we confidently believe he or she will remember the weekend of DADCAMP far more than the game or activity that they may miss. It’s just that memorable for all who attend.
IS THIS GOING TO BE LIKE CHURCH CAMP?
No. Although DADCAMP is a faith-based ministry and there are faith-based elements throughout the weekend, we’ve intentionally designed DADCAMP to be for every Dad—whether he be a person of faith or not. DADCAMP‘s main focus is to challenge Dads to grow as fathers and to give Dads a place to strengthen their relationship with their children.
WHAT IF I DON’T KNOW ANYONE THERE?
Don’t worry! An additional focus of DADCAMP is to help Dads connect with other Dads. Every year new friendships are formed that last well beyond the weekend of camp. Plus, you have your child with you so who else do you need!
ARE THERE SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE?
Yes. Donors have generously made funds available for those with financial need. Scholarship requests must go through an application process and approval. You can find the application HERE.
